Holy Flying Circus (2011) - Dir: Owen Harris Location Art Director, Props Standby, Storyboard Artist
In 1979, Monty Python made Life of Brian and the debate about what is an
acceptable subject for comedy was blown wide open. This is a
fantastical re-imagining of the build-up to the release of the film and
the controversy it caused.
Holy Flying Circus, a 90 minute BBC TV film, is a "Pythonesque" dramatization of the build-up to the debate, the controversy around the film Life of Brian, and dramatizes segments from the televised discussion of the 1979 television debate on talk show Friday Night, Saturday Morning between John Cleese, Michael Palin, Malcolm Muggeridge and Mervyn Stockwood, the then Bishop of Southwark.
Starring Charles Edwards, Darren Boyd, Rufus Jones, Steve Punt, Tom Fisher, Phil Nichol, Mark Heap and Stephen Fry.
